JMK Designs specialises in producing fine modern furniture. The materials used are solid timbers (Sycamore, Elm, Yew, and Ash), Birch ply, veneered ply, Colorcore, glass, brass, copper, metallic laminates, decorative metal foil, ivory, tortoiseshell, horn, Abalone-shell, Perspex and aluminium, along with silk and other fabrics. For health reasons no MDF is used in the construction of any item. All materials are obtained from renewable sources, or are high-quality substitute materials.
New furniture designs can be produced to match your specific needs. The design can be discussed with you either at your home or premises or at Gogar Cabinetworks (address at bottom of page), and will include discussion of design proposals, materials, time-scale, price and delivery details. JMK Designs are also European manufacturers of chairs designed by Berkeley, California maker Ken Smythe. Ken has been manufacturing high quality, distinctively designed chairs for over fifteen years. These chairs are in effect functional sculptures, and would make a striking addition to any modern living or board room. They are made from ply and Colorcore laminate.
